Water, the very essence of life and an invaluable resource deserves its dedicated day of observance – March 22nd, known globally as World Water Day. This year, our school embraced this day not just as a mere formality, but as a fervent call to action.

A Canvas of Conservation

The Social Science department took the lead in ensuring our student body engaged deeply with the significance of the day. Recognizing the impact of visual cues, students were encouraged to craft posters echoing this year’s powerful theme: “Conserving Water to Adapt to Climate Change”. These posters, vibrant with colour and profound in the message, found their proud place in front of the administration block, where they would catch the eyes of students, teachers, and visitors alike.

Beyond the Classroom: A Learning Expedition

Understanding often deepens with experience. On the very essence of this philosophy, our S1 E and S5 geography students were given an enriching opportunity. They were escorted to the PUC exhibition at the Camion Mall. This outing wasn’t just a casual trip; it was an immersion into the intricate world of water conservation, climate change adaptation, and the tangible steps that can be taken towards a sustainable future.

Guiding this expedition were our dedicated educators and staff – Ms Wendy, Sir Ezekiel, Sir George, along with the vigilant school warden. Their presence ensured that the learning was anchored with context, explanation, and a safe environment.

In Conclusion

The commemoration of World Water Day at our school wasn’t just an event, but an embodiment of our commitment to educating our students about global challenges and their roles in addressing them. As we adapt to the ever-evolving challenges of climate change, it is heartening to see the next generation rise, informed and ready.
