At English River Secondary School, our commitment to excellence in science education continues to grow. Recently, our Young Scientists’ Club hosted an engaging and impactful session focused on research methodologies—an essential foundation for students preparing their projects for the upcoming secondary school science fair.

Leading the session was Ms. Monik Choppy, a proud alumna of English River Secondary School and a recent graduate of the University of Seychelles. Her presentation provided students with a practical introduction to scientific research methods, equipping them with the tools to conduct meaningful investigations and present their findings with confidence.

This STEM learning initiative was not just a workshop—it was a moment of inspiration. Ms. Choppy’s return to her former school was a powerful reminder of the value of mentorship and the importance of giving back to the community. Her real-world insights and enthusiasm for science left a lasting impression on the students.

English River Secondary School extends sincere thanks to Ms. Choppy for her time, dedication, and contribution to our young learners. We are proud to see our former students shaping the future of science and education. We also thank the entire Science Department and our dedicated teachers for their ongoing support in fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and research excellence.

Together, we are building a strong foundation in STEM education in Seychelles, one young scientist at a time.
