The magic of childhood is unparalleled. Recognizing this, English River School recently dedicated not just one, but two entire days to celebrate the spirit of childhood with its vibrant Children’s Day festivities. Here’s a sneak peek into how it all unfolded!
A Journey of Reflection and Joy
Spanning the 1st and 2nd of June 2023, the celebrations were a blend of reflection and unbridled joy. The first day started on a contemplative note with an assembly that reverberated with the theme “LES ZANFANS RESTE ZANFANS”. The quiet discipline of the children, paired with their keen attentiveness, signalled that the profound messages of the day were not only heard but also embraced. It’s always heartwarming to witness young minds reflect on deeper themes and truly understand their essence.
Unleashing the Spirit of Celebration
If the first day was about introspection, the second day was all about letting loose and revelling in the joy of childhood. Class parties dotted the premises, and the outdoors came alive with numerous activities, a result of the collaborative efforts of several departments and even some enthusiastic parents. The highlight? An open-air disco in the afternoon! As the beats played and little feet danced, it was evident that the festive activities were a hit among the young ones.
A Note of Gratitude
Behind every successful event is a dedicated team, and the Children’s Day Committee, comprising Ms Wendy, Sir Alen, Ms Dammika, and Sir Gastone, deserves a hearty round of applause. Their meticulous planning and relentless efforts ensured that the two-day celebration went off without a hitch.
Yet, it wasn’t just the committee’s efforts alone. The event was a culmination of the collective hard work of teachers, parents, the school management, the district MNA, ex-students, and of course, the enthusiastic children.
